The release of V10 came with much fun including new games, Spotify and theater mode with Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube that you can use while park at supercharging or anywhere.

#9. Tesla Releases V3 Superchargers
With a charging rate up to 250 kilowatts and a peak of a thousand miles per hour of charge. Typical charging time at v3 will drop to around 15 minutes.
#8. Maximum Plaid Powertrain
Following the heels of the release of the Porsche e-Tron, Elon Musk announced on Twitter that Model S would be Porsches time on nerve already. Turned out Elon had an ace up the sleeve and that’s the maximum plaid 3 motor powertrain coming to the s and X in mid-2020.
Although, the exact performance specs were not released quarter-mile performance is expected to increase along with performance on the track.
#7. Fast Tesla Moments GIGA 3 – Shanghai 2019
One of the greatest Tesla moments is that tesla both broke ground on their Shanghai Giga factory, they also completed it. It took just 168 days to go from permits to finished plant. This makes the Giga Factory 3 the fastest factory ever built at its size.
#6. Enhanced Summon
After months of early access testing, Tesla rolled out enhanced summon. Enhanced summon improved the summon capability to now be able to drive through and across the parking lot autonomously.
Although, this feature is beta and performs cautiously it serves as a good demonstration of what the future will look like.
It caused a sensation on the Internet as cars driving themselves across the parking lot shocked bystanders.
There was also an initial outcry by the media that the feature was going to create chaos, but ultimately that didn’t materialize and within a week fear-mongering about this feature left the new cycle.
Since the release of the feature, Elon Musk has come out on Twitter and said that improvements are coming that will make the feature as smooth as silk.
#5. “Raven” Powertrain
There was a lot of speculation going into 2019 that Tesla was going to refresh the interior and even the exterior of the Model S and X.
Well, Tesla surprised everyone by both increasing the range and performance by only changes in the powertrain. So what they did?
They took the Tesla model 3 magnetic motor and used it as the front motor in both the Model S and X. This did two things both increase energy efficiency and also improved performance.
The Model S was ludicrous on the Raven powertrain set a new quarter-mile record of 10.61 seconds on stock 19-inch wheels directly from the factory.
Tesla also lowered the price of the performance Raven S to a starting price of $99,900 dollars. In addition, Tesla released a new fully adaptive suspension system designed to give an ultra-cushion feel and cruising the highway or autopilot and responsive exhilarating confidence during dynamic driving.
So now with this fully adaptive suspension, the user has the choice to choose auto comfort or performance.
Testing of the new suspension showed that it does, in fact, have a big difference in driver experience. In fact, the video by Sean Mitchell featured here shows a highlight of what some of that data looks like of the previous suspension versus the new fully adaptive in the testing of the Model X.
#4. Model Y Unveil
In March Tesla unveiled the Model Y. The model Y was announced to include 85% of the same parts as a model 3 and be about 10% bigger. So as expected, the Model Y looked like a slightly bigger Model 3 with a hatchback.
The biggest surprise about the unveiling was the lack of surprises at all. The highlight of the event was Elon bringing out on stage all of the histories of Tesla’s cars starting within 0.0.1 of the Tesla Roadster than the Model S, Model X, Tesla Semi, next-generation Tesla Roadster, prior to ultimately unveiling the Tesla Model Y.
In what was very much a victory lap for achieving the master plan Elon Musk showed headlines from the news of the past 10 years versus today.
And needless to say sentiment by the media towards electric cars has completely changed in the past decade and that is all thanks to Tesla.
To know more about this tesla moments, there is essentially 5 thing you need to know about Tesla Model Y.
#3. $35,000 Model 3
One of the most surprising events in Q1 of 2019 was the February announcement that Tesla would begin processing orders for the $35,000 base model 3.
This came as a huge surprise because just a few months earlier Elon Musk said that it could not sell the base model 3 for $35,000 or Tesla would die where.
Tesla got creative in cost-cutting was by announcing that they would be closing the majority of stores and transitioning to an online-only sales model in order to save the necessary operating cost to be able to deliver on the promise of the base model 3.
Ultimately, Tesla did close some stores and reduce sales staff but it didn’t complete the drastic store closures as initially announced.
#2. Cybertruck Unveiling
One of the best Tesla moments in 2019 is When Elon took the stage of the Cybertruck to unveil welcomed by a hologram in a room glowing full of lasers. Nobody really had any idea of what was coming next.
Tesla completely shocked the world by unveiling a vehicle with a steel exoskeleton and a completely angular design.
Whether you love the Tesla Cybertruck design or you just found it ugly. These trucks got everyone talking about, it like no other car. LET ME TELL YOU WHY
The invent also included a few unexpected surprises including Franz demonstrating the strength of the Cybertruck steel door by hitting it with a sledgehammer.
We’re going fine up into that point, and then things went a little bit off-course when after doing a glass demonstration where a giant steel ball was dropped from varying Heights to show the strength of a Tesla armored glass.
Elon challenged Franz to throw a steel ball at the windows.
And well not only did the front window break so did the back one.
Elon Musk did release a video the next day on Twitter showing that testing prior to the event of the same steel ball actually bounced off the window.
And as if the design of the Cybertruck wasn’t shocking enough where people were really awestruck was the price Elon Musk had previously said that the base model is going to be under $50,000 dollars as it turns out the base model is going to ship for $39,900.
The mid-range version is going to ship for $49,900 and the top inversion is going to ship for $69,900. This puts Tesla at a very competitive price point, not only with its gas competitors but also with the up-and-coming electric trucks joining the market.
And that’s not all Elon had a surprise in store with an all-electric ATV which can both drive into the back of the Cybertruck with its own ramp. It can also plugin and charge directly from the bed of the truck.
Elon confirmed later on Twitter that the ATV will come first as an add-on option for Cybertruck buyers but hinting that it would be available later as individual orders some point down the road.
#1. 3rd Quarter Earnings
By far the biggest Tesla moments in 2019 was the Q3 earnings report. To the shock of everyone on Wall Street Tesla turned a profit and a quarter where they were expected to sustain losses.
Tesla ultimately posted earnings of $1.91 cents per share versus estimates of a negative 24 cents per share gross margin went up to 18.9% versus estimates of 17.7%.
Tesla now says it expects a positive quarterly free cash flow going forward with possible temporary exceptions after it sank back at unprofitability earlier this year.
Tesla continues to believe that its business has grown to a point of being self-funded.
The results have also had a large impact on the share price, the stock showing as of today a 69% increase since the Q3 earnings report was released.
Some notable Tesla Bears have also changed their position including the Mad Money Man himself Jim Cramer. CNBC’s Jim Cramer has made a complete U-turn on Tesla from an antagonistic skeptic to an outright bull and in his own words, he is a true believer.
There were big Tesla moments in 2019 and we’d love for you to tell us what was your favorites. Also let us know if there’s something that we missed, something that you feel like should have been in our top 10 that wasn’t.
